Westar Satellite Services and Helius Sign Strategic Alliance Agreement
New Technology Offers On-Site Training and Marketing Solutions
DALAS, TX —August 10, 2005—Westar Satellite
Services and Helius, Inc. have signed an agreement that will give companies
and government agencies a revolutionary way to send high quality video
streams to locations worldwide. Using Helius’ and Westar’s
technology, customers will be able to instantly and cost-effectively
send training programs, advertisements, video news releases and product
data to thousands of specific sites. Westar Satellite Services is a
privately owned North Texas based satellite communications company.
“By combining our technology with Helius’ technology,
organizations ranging from retail companies to oil and gas businesses
will be able to train staff, market products and promote their business,” noted
Rob Tannor, president and CEO of Westar Satellite Services. “This
system can send video to multiple sites and multiple monitors at each
site, through either landlines or wireless, while displaying different
content on each display. And the cost of the technology is so inexpensive
that most any business can afford it.”
Uniting Westar’s and Helius’ revolutionary hardware and
software systems, organizations will be able to conduct remote training
at facilities at the touch of a button. Using simple, easy-to-use computer
tools, users can instantly display and update presentations for customers
and employees. Every digital broadcast sent via the Westar technology
is digitally encrypted, with conditional access to cement the file’s
security.
“We are very excited to work with Westar in the delivery of
IP based broadcast services,” said Ron Heinz, president and CEO
of Helius Incorporated. “This agreement will deliver cutting-edge
video-powered business solutions.”
Additional applications for the technology include security and equipment
monitoring, digital signage and video conferencing.
“One of the most intriguing applications for this technology
is the retail environment,” explained Tannor. “By incorporating
a monitor integrated with this system into a retail area such as blue
jeans, a retailer can conduct product training and update employees
about offers before the store opens. The broadcast can switch to the
jean company’s commercials, video’s and latest promotions
once the public enters. These crystal clear video broadcasts can vary
with the time of day to target the changing customer demographics,
or be instantly updated to reflect new sales.”
Westar will begin offering the new service in the final quarter of
2005.
