Helius' Patent Portfolio
Helius has been awarded patent numbers 6,205,473, 6,922,719, 6,947,974, and 7,117,251.

Helius’ intellectual property portfolio includes these patents, and other pending patent applications. The company intends to listen to its customers and progressively develop innovative additions to its intellectual property. To bolster its patent, Helius has filed continuation applications to pursue coverage of additional and broader inventions in its field, including an invention in the field of IPSEC via multicast. Helius anticipates that any patents issuing from these applications will date back to March 20, 2001. These pending applications include application numbers 09/746,438 and 11/231,107 and 11/337,038.

The patent and pending applications apply to, but are not limited to, data sent over a satellite and routed to clients on a Local Area Network, IP multicast routing technology to multiple clients over a Local Area Network, bidirectional satellite communication routed to and from clients on a Local Area Network, bidirectional electronic satellite communication supporting a variety of return channels, satellite-based Internet applications, satellite-based interactive solutions and other satellite-related applications.

Helius continues to pursue new rights and innovations through the patent process. Its engineering staff dedicates much of its time to producing the industries most innovative and compelling technological breakthroughs for use by its customers as well as the industry at large.

Helius Licensing Program
The Helius Patent Licensing Program was established to allow the implementation of satellite-based communications to Local Area Networks by providing fair and reasonable access to patent rights that are essential for modern IP-based satellite communications networks and applications. Companies that create software or use a method of receiving and/or sending and receiving information on a Local Area Network via satellite need the essential patent rights the License provides. The License allows users to patent rights before making products. The License covers Helius' patents on products from March 20, 2001 forward.
